Robin Rowley Bowman

Textile Artist & Designer

“At the heart of my passion for stitched cloth is my life purpose – that of using my creativity to convey hope and joy to
all who experience it.”

Robin Rowley Bowman creates unique fabric art collages using techniques she has built upon since childhood. Her love of sewing and cloth, coupled with experience using many art mediums, has serendipitously sparked a passion for creating mixed media textile work and art quilts. She stitches colorful fabric collages using hand-dyed and printed cloth, thread and fibers. Her textile work is characterized by hand-stitched embellishments including original fabric beads, embroidery, and findings from all over the world. Collage is the vehicle she has chosen to express her artistic vision. Robin strives to include her own unique design style in every art quilt in which texture and dimension create energy on the surface of the art. Although she has always demonstrated a special love of the sea and its creatures, Robin’s new work has evolved to include other nature themes as well as Asian and African inspired work. Her collection includes fine art originals, paper and canvas prints, her own ceramic tile line, and a myriad of decorative accessories.

Robin has combined college-level art coursework, her mother’s teachings in sewing and embroidery, and intuitive design ability into a full-time professional art career. She has regular commitments to galleries and sells her work at regional and national juried art venues. Her work has been published in local and regional magazines, and she shares her passion for fiber art through various workshop and teaching engagements.
